Remove MobileLife Contacts Account?

Since MobileLife Contacts is no longer offered, should I remove the account?  How?

I attempted from Message -> Settings -> Accounts -> MobileLife Contacts -> Remove Account.

I received a message that I need to reset my device back to the factory in order to actually remove the account.  I'm not comfortable resetting my device and possibly starting over again.  Is there a better way?  Should the account be removed?
