Understanding the Issue
Use this document to troubleshoot a problem with the calendar or contacts deleted on an Android phone. If an Android device is set to Sync with google or other account and the device does not have a data page, the sync process can cause data(particularly Contacts and Calendar entries) to be deleted shortly after they are added.
For Android 2.1+ devices, the only contacts that will have this issue is ones that are set as google contacts, if they are added as SIM, Phone, etc, they will not delete.

To resolve this issue, follow the below steps:
- Turn off Synchronization for the contacts:
- Android 1.5-1.6
- From the home screen, press Menu.
- Select Settings.
- Select Data Synchronization.
- Uncheck the Contacts & Calendar checkbox.
- Android 2.1+Note: For Android 2.1+ devices, the only contacts that will have this issue is ones that are set as Google contacts, if they are added as SIM, Phone, etc, they will not delete.
- From the home screen press Menu.
- Select Settings.
- Select Accounts & Sync.
- Select the Google Account.
- Uncheck the Contacts & Calendar checkbox.
- Repeat steps 4 & 5 for all Google accounts listed.
- Android 1.5-1.6
- Check display settings to confirm which accounts are showing in the Contacts and Calendar.
- If there are entries deleting after performing the above, contact Google for additional assistance.
